The West End has seen some changes lately, and the Davie and Bute intersection certainly changed up a lot. Since the rainbow crosswalks and picnic tables were added this past summer, the area has seen many new businesses including a new Locavore restaurant, Exile Bistro. Exile is

Exile is a Locavore bistro serving gluten free pastries, ethical coffee, brunch and dinner. If you’re in the West End, you must check it out.  Not sure what Locavore means? Exile sources all ingredients used at the Bistro locally, decreasing the carbon footprint and increasing the delicious factor.

Vanessa Bourget, the former vartender of the old Waldorf hotel is responsible for opening up Exile. And Lina Caschetto has crafted the menu. Caschetto is known for her fabulous food stylings at Les Faux Burgeois in Mount Pleasant and Fable on West 4th.  Both are very successful and delicious restaurants.

The bistro also has a fabulous selection of cocktails and a well-thought wine list for those who seek libation. If you like Tequila, try the Red Margarita. Made with hibiscus, beet and agave, it’s a nice twist on a cocktail that usually isn’t that exciting.

The ambiance and décor of the bistro is very Vancouver; unique, trendy and modern looking with a bit of a natural tone. Located at 1220 Bute Street, we surely hope this cute new spot is successful. Enjoy, friends!
