When you hear the term “pre-fabricated home,” what do you think? In the past, the term has carried a somewhat negative connotation. Fast forward into the 21st century, and pre-fabricated homes have become hip, functional, and even sought-after.
One Los Angeles couple decided to test one out for themselves. They moved into a new prefab home, the Tatami House, designed by Swiss architect Roger Kurath of Design*21. In the centre of the house is a courtyard, which is a very important feature to the couple. They wanted a house that utilized “inward living,” where the light comes from within, and privacy from their surroundings is maximized.
