I want to share with you a best-kept secret in Vancouver. If you love Italian food (which I do, of course!), you’ll love Nook. This home style pizzeria and pasta place is one of the best restaurants in Vancouver. It was first opened on Denman Street in the West End, and now they’ve got a location on Yew in Kitsilano. The Denman Street location can get busy around dinner time, but if you’re early enough the Yew Street location can usually fit you in!

The atmosphere is quaint and usually rather quiet. They’ve got an excellent wine list if that tickles your fancy, but I’m all about the food here. As an appetizer, I like to start with the Aperal Spritz – I can never just stop at one! The green salad is also amazing, with butter lettuce, walnuts, chickpeas and a sprinkle of pecorino. My absolute favorite!

Their menu is plump with pasta, pizza, salads and some of the most delicious crostini toasts, all at a very reasonable price range. I couldn’t believe the quality for the price, the first time I visited Nook. They’re also great for takeout, if you’d like to take it home or to the park in the summer.

The service is always fabulous too – Brad at the Kits location takes care of everyone. His enthusiasm for the restaurant and food will get you excited as well! I could definitely eat there every night, and I’m sure there are others that feel the same way and perhaps do!

The Kitsilano location is located at 1525 Yew Street. Call (604) 734-0099 for a reservation! If you’re in the West End, they’re at 781 Denman Street and call (604) 568-4554 for a reservation.

Cheers!
